are there any weight loss benefits to bikram yoga? i am going to start taking classes and was wondering what some of the benefits are besides loosing water weight temporarily.

Bikram is definitely a great way to lose weight. It’s actually the only way that’s worked for me. So far, I’ve dropped 2 dress sizes. I go about 2-3x/week and do no other exercise. I’ve toned my arms/legs/stomach and lost serious inches all over. I feel better & I look better. I would say I started to see benefits about a month in to the practice and could really notice some changes 3 months in. But now I feel like I notice a difference with every class. I’ve seen way more results than I ever did at a gym or pilates (I used to be a big pilates person). The cardio is amazing & it’s a great way to lose weight & get your cardio workout in without pounding away (like in running). Also eventually you’ll find Bikram to be fairly meditative & calming.
