Should I take a swimming class in the summer?

Okay, so when it comes to swimming, I’m kind of a chicken-s**t. According to me, I can’t swim, but I probably can. This one time, I was floating, and I thought I was drowning, and I started freaking out! I usually just walk around in the pool.

So, I was looking at the summer schedule of classes at my college, and there’s a few PE classes that interest me: Swimming, Swim Fitness, Weight Training, and Hatha Yoga.

Here’s the description of the swimming class:
Emphasizes development of aquatic skills and conditioning appropriate for the non-swimmer, beginning swimmer, or intermediate swimmer.
The class meets 3 hours a week (2 days a week) for 5 weeks.

So, would “non-swimmer” include chicken-s**ts? I don’t have a fear of water, just a fear of drowning.

definitely take the class, it is a very valuable skill to know how to swim… in fact some colleges require it for graduation (Ive heard of at least one)… plus what if you accidentally fall in to the water somewhere… if you know how to swim you will survive…. plus you can get that PE credit out of the way
