Yoga to relieve stress

Stress …. It is a fact of life, there is really no way around it. How to manage the stress though can mean difference.

The natural relaxation response of the body is a powerful antidote to stress. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation and yoga can help you activate this relaxation response. When practiced regularly, these activities lead to a reduction in everyday stress levels and increase feelings of peace and tranquility. They also help in teaching how to be calm and collected when life throws you a ball curve.

The stress response floods your body with chemicals that prepare you for the "fight or flight." But Although this response is useful in emergency situations when one should be alert, chronic stress wears away. Under prolonged or severe stress, even the most well adapted loses the ability to adapt. When stress exceeds our coping resources, our bodies and minds suffer. Science is constantly learning on the impact that stress has on your overall health. Recent research suggests that between 60 and 90 percent of disease is stress related. Wear Physical stress includes damage to the cardiovascular system and immune system depression. Stress can cause a myriad of health problems, thereby compromising their ability to fight disease and infection, throws your digestive system to balance, makes it difficult to conceive a baby, and may even prevent the growth children.

A counterweight to the stress response, we must learn to activate our bodies relaxation response brings system back into balance, the deepening of your breathing, reducing stress hormones, lower the heart rate, lower your blood pressure blood and muscle relaxation.

Yoga is an excellent technique stress relief. It involves a series of both moving and stationary poses, combined with deep breathing. The physical and mental benefits of yoga provide a natural counterbalance to stress, relaxation and strengthening response in their daily lives. Since injuries can occur when yoga is practiced incorrectly, it is best to learn by attending group classes or hire a tutor. Once you learn the basics, you can practice alone or with others, adapting their practice as they see fit.

Tips beginning of yoga practice:

* Consider your fitness level and any other medical problem before to join a yoga class. There are many kinds of yoga for different needs, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa or Power Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, "Hot" or Bikram Yoga, (Practiced in a hot environment, may be too much if you are a beginner.) Research the different styles and find one that feels like a good fit. * To relieve stress, I'd recommend the Hatha Yoga, especially if you are starting.

* Look for an environment of low pressure where you can learn at their own pace. Do not extend yourself beyond what feels comfortable, and always returned from a pose at the first sign of pain. Listen your body. A good teacher can show alternative poses that are too difficult for their level of fitness.

* Remember, Yoga is not about you become a pretzel … it comes to finding their own advantage and honor where you are at this time. Also, try a few different classes, each teacher has their own style and if you get off by one, try another.
